With the deepening of the "Healthy China" strategy, the state has issued a series of policies to encourage medical device innovation, accelerating the review of innovative medical devices. In recent years, China's medical device industry has continued to maintain a steady development trend, Qin Yuming, secretary-general of the Medical Device Supply Chain Branch of the China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing, told People's Daily Health Client on 28 November.
The report "Development Status and Trends of China's Medical Device Industry" released on 4 May this year shows that China's medical device market has exceeded 900 billion yuan in 2022; the "China Medical Device Industry Report 2021" shows that the scale of China's medical device market in 2019 will be 629 billion yuan, which is doubled compared with the 308 billion yuan in 2015. Through the changes in the size of the medical device market in these years, it can be clearly seen that China's medical device industry has entered a period of steady development.
A number of new medical robots also took to the stage at the 2023 World Robot Conference.
With the continuous development of China's healthcare system reform, graded diagnosis and treatment, the construction of the "1,000 counties project", public hospitals, high-quality development and other policies, healthcare resources continue to sink, the accessibility and effectiveness of primary healthcare services and medical devices continue to improve, and the acceptance of clinicians and residents of home-made medical devices is rapidly increasing.
In the future, the development potential of domestic brands is huge, on the one hand, thanks to the recent positive policies related to the industry, China's policy to support the import substitution of high-end medical equipment; on the other hand, the domestic medical equipment has gradually broken through a number of technical barriers, part of the implantable consumables, monitors, in vitro diagnostic field of biochemical diagnostics and so on has been basically to achieve import substitution.
